An new opportunity exists for a highly motivated and energetic professional to join Life Saving Victoria as Media and Communications Manager. We are seeking a dynamic and innovative person to oversee Life Saving Victoria's Media & Communications function. This role involves plenty of task variety including the development and delivery of a range of media, public relations, communications and promotional strategies that will support Life Saving Victoria's (LSV) projects, strategic commitments and its role as an emergency service and State peak body. Life Saving Victoria, is Victoria's peak Water safety and Lifesaving organisation with a mission to prevent aquatic related death and injury across all Victorian communities. We strive to provide all Victorians with water safety, swimming, resuscitation, and safe beaches, water environments and aquatic venues. We achieve this by working with our members, communities, educational institutions, governments, and other organisations in the provision of best practice education, training, surveillance and rescue and risk management services. We seek a proactive thinker, who enjoys working in a team environment. You will possess good leadership skills, excellent customer service and communication skills, with a flexible, "can do" attitude. This is a hands-on role and you will need to be available on weekends and after hours on a roster over the summer period.  You will coordinate on the run between internal and external stakeholders. Some regional and interstate travel may be required. Key Selection Criteria; Ideal candidate: media professional, able to confidently develop and deliver a range of media, communication, PR and promotional services and strategies. A people person, with strong interpersonal skills, team leading experienceand able to work positively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and priorities. Specific requirements: an experienced Media professionalwith at least 5 years' relevant industry experience. Strong experience in media liaisons and reactive media management, both corporate and crisis communication, government liaison and brand management essential. Strong knowledge of digital communications and promotion. You will have a track record of successand some understanding of not for profit, emergency service and/or community-based organisations viewed favourably. Personal attributes: You will be solution orientated, with the ability to overcome obstacles and 'make things happen'. You will have a demonstratedability to work with a variety of stakeholders to deliver excellent customer service. Should be able to deal with high pressure and able to demonstrate a passion for the community sector. High level of integrity, discretion and empathy essential. Communication skills: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of stakeholders including sponsors, government agencies, national bodies, media agenciesand volunteers. Project management: Proven project management and planning skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and performance targets. Should be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of time management and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Commercially Astute: Should have excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate opportunities and provide recommendations. Will have proven business planning, budgets and market analysis experience. Flexible: You will have a flexible, can do attitude. You will need to be available on-call including weekends over the summer period and be able to co-ordinate on the run between internal and external stakeholders.
