We are seeking highly motivated individuals with exceptional people skills, and strong quality focus and a passion for pool safety and compliance to join the Life Saving Victoria as Assessment Services Officers.
Life Saving Victoria (LSV) is Victoria's peak body for water safety and is at its heart a Lifesaving organization. As such, LSV is committed to its mission to prevent aquatic related death and injury across all Victorian communities. We strive to provide all Victorians with water safety, swimming, resuscitation, and safe beaches, water environments and aquatic venues.
LSV's Aquatic Facility and Pool Safety team have been providing expert water safety advice to pool owners and operators for over two decades. The Pool Safety team provide services and expertise able to assist in all aspects of pool safety including facility design, safe operation, supervision, critical incident management and general management consultancy.
The successful candidate will have a focus on delivering high quality Pool Safety Assessments, Desktop Assessment and Mystery Guest Visits of aquatic facilities.
Key Selection Criteria;
Ideal candidate: will have a minimum of 3 years prior experience working in the Aquatic and Recreation Industry and has some management experience with a sound understanding of aquatic risk management and medium to large aquatic facility operations
Specific requirements: you will have current First Aid, Pool Lifeguard and Aquatic Technical Operations certificates, drivers license, as well as ability to obtain a Working With Children Check.
Personal attributes: ability to deliver excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to overcome obstacles and 'make things happen'. You will have a keen eye for detail and be outcome focused, whilst remaining calm under pressure, with the ability to show a level head.
Communication skills: must have excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely. You will be able to deliver feedback, support and advice regarding pool safety assessments at both private and public aquatic facilities confidently and respectfully, providing valued expertise to key stakeholders.
Flexible: You will have a flexible, can do attitude with the ability to co-ordinate on the run between internal and external stakeholders. There will be travel both metropolitan and regional.
