An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and energetic grass-roots sports management professional to join Life Saving Victoria (LSV) as  Manager – Aquatic Sport.Life Saving Victoria is Victoria's peak water safety and lifesaving organisation and is committed to its mission to prevent aquatic related death and injury across all Victorian communities.  With over 38,000 members from 57 clubs across Victoria, LSV is continuously looking for innovative ways to develop and test lifesaving skills, engage and provide new opportunities for its members, while also fostering participation, retention and development of our members. Lifesaving sport is a key strategy for this and the Aquatic Sports team facilitates and supports the delivery of competitions and programs for Junior, Youth, Senior and Master age-groups, and across a range of disciplines including beach, pool lifesaving and IRB racing, taking place state-wide, interstate and internationally.  The team also supports a volunteer development by way of coaches and officials accreditation programs, and athlete development high-performance programs..We are seeking an energetic, self-starter, who is innovative, and project orientated to oversee the development and delivery of key sporting projects and events, whilst managing the day-to-day operation of the Aquatic Sport function.This is a dynamic, multi-task-oriented role offering significant variety including the promotion, development, delivery and evaluation of a range of programs, with an emphasis on the growth, sustainability and development of our membership and promotion of healthy lifestyles and skills development.Key Selection Criteria.Ideal candidate: this position would ideally suit a project orientated individual with a strong background in event management, with a particular focus in the sporting sector in sports development and/or participation. Demonstrated experience with volunteer engagement areas is desirable.  You will be a people leader and a team player with a friendly 'can-do' attitude, with a willingness to 'roll up your sleeves' when needed.Specific requirements: must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work on a number of projects and tasks simultaneously. You must have the ability to operate in a high-pressure environment and be a proactive problem solver, to analyse issues from different perspectives and propose workable solutions.You will have exemplary interpersonal and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively consult and negotiate with a range of stakeholders to achieve beneficial outcomes.  With refined conflict management skills, you will have proven change management experience.Personal attributes: demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service and to overcome obstacles and 'make things happen'. You will be resilient and have a passion for health, and/or volunteerism/community. You will be flexible, available on weekends and be able to co-ordinate on the run between internal and external stakeholders. Some regional and interstate travel will be required.  Communication skills: Sound communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills required, including well-developed written and oral skills.
