Exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, organised and skilled Sports Event professional to join the LSV Aquatic Sports team, to drive the delivery of the busy winter event calendar.  Life Saving Victoria is Victoria's peak water safety and lifesaving organisation with a mission to prevent aquatic related death and injury across all Victorian communities. We strive to provide all Victorians with water safety, swimming, resuscitation, safe beaches, water environments and aquatic venues. Lifesaving Sport is a key strategy for LSV for member attraction, retention and skills development (rescue ready).  The team facilitates and supports the delivery of competitions and programs for junior, youth, senior and master age-groups, and across a range of disciplines including pool lifesaving, IRB racing, winter development series and state development teams taking place state-wide, interstate and internationally. The team also supports volunteer development by way of coaches and officials accreditation programs, and athlete development high-performance programs. This is a dynamic and multi-tasked-oriented role which is responsible for the coordination, administration, operations and execution of the LSV Aquatic Sport summer portfolio of events and programs. You will coordinate the development and delivery of adaptive and flexible programs that enable and encourage lifesaving members and clubs to increase participation and activation in events.  The role will also include support for the delivery of LSV Aquatic Sport events and programs outside the traditional winter period.  Key Selection Criteria; Ideal candidate: this position would ideally suit an experienced sports or events professional with previous experience in event day administration, logistics and support in sport, volunteer-based or membership-based organisation. You will have a friendly 'can-do' attitude and is a person who doesn't mind 'rolling-up their sleeves'. Specific requirements: tertiary qualified in sports management or similar discipline. You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  You will be extremely organised with a talent for troubleshooting and practical problem solving.   You will have the ability to work on a number of projects and events simultaneously in a pressure environment.  You must have a current driver's license and willing to assist with equipment logistics including towing trailers.  Current Working with Children Check (or capacity to acquire prior to commencement date). Personal attributes: demonstrable ability to deliver excellent customer service and to overcome obstacles and 'make things happen'. You will be a people person with the ability to deal with high pressure and able to demonstrate a passion for the community sector and volunteering. Communication skills: must have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of stakeholders including volunteer members, internal staff, local councils, government agencies, national bodies and sponsors. Flexible: You will have a flexible, can do attitude. You will need to be available to work regular weekends and be flexible with availability outside typical business hours as required. You will be able to co-ordinate ‘on the run’ between internal and external stakeholders.
