All Orbits, All Planets™ – Join us on our journey Gilmour Space is the leading Australian rocket company, pioneering next-generation hybrid propulsion technologies for small satellite launch vehicles.An exciting new opportunity exists for an Electronics/Electrical Engineer - Avionics Systems to design, develop, integrate, and test of electronic and electrical systems for the ERIS launch vehicle, ground support systems and test infrastructure systems.Duties and Responsibilities:The responsibilities listed are not exhaustive, they represent examples of the work performed by this position.Participate in the design of electronic and electrical systems for the Launch Vehicle, ground support systems and test infrastructure.Perform design, analysis, prototyping, debugging, documentation, productisation, manufacturing and test for new development equipment.Perform requirements analyses, component selection, procurement and integration of commercial-off-the shelf equipment.Partner with software, GNC, mechanical, integration, test, manufacturing and production teams to deliver fully functional products.Support hardware through test, production, integration and flight operations.Ensure schedules are maintained and report project status regularly to management.Skills and Experiences:Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering3+ years of electronics design experience and knowledge2+ years of electronic product development experience i.e. designing electrical hardware from concept through production and operation, with a strong emphasis on full life cycle development of new hardware products.Experience with designing and implementing mixed-signal circuit boards from concept through to production.Experience with common communication protocols e.g. CAN bus, ethernet, SPI etc.Experience with hands on testing, troubleshooting and debugging electronics.Strong understanding of computing and programming languages (C/C++, Matlab and Python).Demonstrated ability to work in a highly cross-functional role.Ability to work autonomously in a demanding start­up atmosphere.Passion for advancing the commercial space industry.Experience with vehicle sensor networks and telemetry system.Experience with Altium Designer preferred.Lab testing of both developmental and production-level PCB’s.Experience in the Aerospace industry.Experience working with subcontractors and vendors.Experience with common standards and best practices for designing hardware.Exposure to document management and systems engineering.Policies and Procedures:All Gilmour Space policies and procedures form part of all Employees' terms of engagement and position descriptions.
