You will be required to perform other duties within your skills and abilities.Electrical / Avionics productionAssemble hardware and harnesses based on schematic diagramsProvide leadership, motivation, and direction in the day to day running of the Electrical Technician team, ensuring it is managed effectively by setting clear targets/KPI’s and monitoring these in line with expectationsTo manage performance of the team, ensuring that any shortfalls in performance are managed and reported to the Manufacturing ManagerTo ensure all workers are inducted and operate to the company’s policies/procedures including casuals, contractors & visitors on siteResponsible for planning and scheduling work, assigning work, and assessing completed workOther duties as requested by ManagementMinimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Trade qualified Electrical or Avionics Technician5+ years of experience in a high reliability operating environment, ideally within the aerospace or automotive industry.2+ years of experience in a similar leadership roleDesired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Experience in aircraft/aerospace assembly desirableStrong leadership backgroundStrong Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with the proper usage of hand tools & electrical production equipmentHarness and battery process development experienceProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsTeamwork / Leadership / Interpersonal:Leadership, motivational and/or negotiating skill. Are you an Electrical Technician looking for that next career step who would love to work on rockets? Well an exciting new role has emerged for a Lead Electrical Technician to effectively lead the Electrical Technician team in the production of high-quality components vital to the success of Gilmour Space Technologies. You will effectively communicate with all team members to ensure duties are performed to the highest standards in an efficient and timely manner whilst adhering to Gilmour Space production schedules, policies, and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Electrical / Avionics production
  • Assemble hardware and harnesses based on schematic diagrams
  • Provide leadership, motivation, and direction in the day to day running of the Electrical Technician team, ensuring it is managed effectively by setting clear targets/KPI’s and monitoring these in line with expectations
  • To manage performance of the team, ensuring that any shortfalls in performance are managed and reported to the Manufacturing Manager
  • To ensure all workers are inducted and operate to the company’s policies/procedures including casuals, contractors & visitors on site
  • Responsible for planning and scheduling work, assigning work, and assessing completed work
  • Other duties as requested by Management

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Trade qualified Electrical or Avionics Technician
  • 5+ years of experience in a high reliability operating environment, ideally within the aerospace or automotive industry.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar leadership role

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in aircraft/aerospace assembly desirable
  • Strong leadership background
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with the proper usage of hand tools & electrical production equipment
  • Harness and battery process development experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Teamwork / Leadership / Interpersonal:

  • Leadership, motivational and/or negotiating skill. Anticipates and responds to the needs of others
  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution skills
  • Proven Ability to prioritize and manage work demands and deliver outcomes
  • Self-motivated, results oriented with a high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated commitment to health and safety, quality assurance, continuous improvement, and environmental management
