Well an exciting new role has opened for an Electrical Engineer Graduate to be responsible for providing engineering designs, construction, operation & maintenance, and troubleshooting of Bowen Orbital Spaceport (BOS), Launch Control Centre (LCC), and all auxiliary launch vehicle interface infrastructure. You will document and communicate across teams to ensure duties are performed in an efficient and timely manner whilst adhering to Gilmour Space policies and procedures.Duties and Responsibilities:The responsibilities listed are not exhaustive. You will be required to work in a team with other engineering disciplines to perform these and other duties within your skills and abilities across electrical, instrumentation and control, and electronics and communications disciplines.Provide or support detailed design and specification for the following equipment and systems:Electrical power generation, distribution, and earthing systemsSwitchgear, launch machines and motor control centersExterior and interior lighting, HVAC, and Security systemsFluids and mechanical control systems including, PLCs, instrumentation and programming for ground side operations and launch sequencesSCADA system hardware and softwareData and communications system for spaceport and facilitiesFire alarm systems and lightning protection systemsProvide electrical engineering support to facility technicians in operation and troubleshooting of existing instrumentation, control system and electrical equipment and controllers Ensure that all equipment interfaces properly with other mechanical and electrical systems, including compatibility with facility power budgetsCoordinate all electrical installations and maintenance activities with Gilmour Space personnel and contractorsManage compliance of instrument, control and electrical installations with local and international design and operation codesProvide operations input where appropriate to all launch vehicle and spaceport development teams conducting design and systems engineering review tasksOther duties as requested by ManagementMinimum Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering1+ years of professional experience in a similar roleRPEQ or the ability to applyEvidence of exceptional abilityDesired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:Ability to read, draft and understand complex power, electronics, instrumentation and control schematicsAbility to read, draft and understand highly technical equipment design documentation, operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals and specificationsExperience with medium/high voltage systemsExperience with PLC and distribution board panel design and productionAbility to work on multiple tasks concurrentlyKnowledge of safety procedures and techniquesHigh level of self-motivation, with the ability to work under minimal supervisionStrong written and verbal communication skillsPolicies and ProceduresAll Gilmour Space policies and procedures form part of all Employees’ terms of engagement and position descriptions.     • Exterior and interior lighting, HVAC, and Security systems
    • Fluids and mechanical control systems including, PLCs, instrumentation and programming for ground side operations and launch sequences
    • SCADA system hardware and software
    • Data and communications system for spaceport and facilities
    • Fire alarm systems and lightning protection systems
  • Provide electrical engineering support to facility technicians in operation and troubleshooting of existing instrumentation, control system and electrical equipment and controllers 
  • Ensure that all equipment interfaces properly with other mechanical and electrical systems, including compatibility with facility power budgets
  • Coordinate all electrical installations and maintenance activities with Gilmour Space personnel and contractors
  • Manage compliance of instrument, control and electrical installations with local and international design and operation codes
  • Provide operations input where appropriate to all launch vehicle and spaceport development teams conducting design and systems engineering review tasks
  • Other duties as requested by Management

Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • 1+ years of professional experience in a similar role
  • RPEQ or the ability to apply
  • Evidence of exceptional ability

Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Ability to read, draft and understand complex power, electronics, instrumentation and control schematics
  • Ability to read, draft and understand highly technical equipment design documentation, operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals and specifications
  • Experience with medium/high voltage systems
  • Experience with PLC and distribution board panel design and production
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and techniques
  • High level of self-motivation, with the ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
