
Lead Substation Design Engineer Transmission scale - (Electrical Engineer)
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and motivated substation design engineer to lead the design of several substations on an icon project. This project is one of the largest transmission projects to be undertaken in recent times. Spanning from Wagga Wagga, NSW to Robertstown, SA. Our client is a global player in the renewables and electrical infrastructure space and has made extensive in-roads into the Australian energy market. This is a unique opportunity to join this exciting company and making your mark working on this landmark project.
The role will be based in Sydney with travel to various locations in regional NSW as required. The role will be responsible for the engineering design of all the substations on the project. You will be leading a design team and be responsible for reviewing design consultants, and ensuring the design meets TransGrid’s Specifications across primary and secondary substation designs.
Applicants must have 5 years + experience as Senior Design Engineer, Substation Design for Power Transmission systems, with strong understanding of TransGrid standards.
Must-have requirements:
- Experience as a substation design lead for large projects
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with TransGrid’s Technical Standards
- Experience in primary substation design of transmission scale
- Experience in secondary systems Design requirements for TransGrid
You will have a degree in Electrical Engineering with proven experience in design of Substations. Further to this you will have:
- Excellent leadership skills
- Strong planning, delivery, and reporting skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under conflicting priorities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
