
1st year Apprentice Carpenter

Based in Townsville, this newly created 4 year Carpenter Apprenticeship is a great opportunity for recent school leavers to take their next step towards a career, and gain a Certificate III in Carpentry. The Construction industry is continuously growing and this exclusive opportunity will see the successful Apprentice work and learn, rotating their time between two construction companies, learning all aspects of this trade.
A dedicated TORGAS Field Representative will be assigned to you to guide you through obtaining your Certificate III in Carpentry whilst offering support over your placement/s during your apprenticeship.
The Role:
The role will provide you with in-depth training relevant to the industry; from setting out, constructing wall and ceiling frames, to pitching roofs and installing windows and doors. The role will require a hardworking, disciplined applicant who has the ability to work long hours. This Junior position will offer a wealth of knowledge to build a foundation for an aspiring tradesman.
About You:
- Must have a genuine desire to work in construction
- Enjoy hands on work and problem solving
- Have high attention to detail
- Have basic hand tools
- Be a quick learner who is able to follow directions
- Be extremely reliable, motivated & handle a fast paced, physical environment
- Be tenacious and persistent
- Strong time management skills and communication skills
- Must hold a White Card and Drivers licence
- Work experience in construction or with a builder is desirable
