An exciting new opportunity exists for a Harness and Power Systems Engineer who will work with engineering and manufacturing teams to design, develop, and test electrical harnesses and power systems for launch vehicles and ground-support equipment. The Harness and Power Systems Engineer will work across teams to ensure duties are performed in an efficient and timely manner whilst adhering to Gilmour Space policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Computer-aided design (CAD) of electrical harnesses for the launch vehicle, integration and test systems and ground-support systems.
  • Conduct technical analysis, design and sizing of launch vehicle and ground-support power systems

  • Generate and maintain solutions to suit the launch vehicle and ground-support equipment needs, respecting safety standards and criteria

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors (BS) degree in an engineering discipline sufficient to satisfy the requirements for membership with Engineers Australia (MIEAust)
  • Experience with electrical motors and power systems e.g. inverters, batteries, rectifiers etc.
  • Experience with electrical harness design, documentation and manufacture
  • Experience within the space, aerospace or automotive industry
  • Experience with the computer-aided design (CAD) of electrical harnesses (ideally within Solidworks)
  • Experience with the integration and test of commercial off the shelf (COTS) equipment
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with Engineering and Production teams
  • Ability to work in a high-paced, challenging work environment
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment with a desire and willingness to assist other team members in the general day to day running of the department
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
