The Mount Belches Mining area is comprised of two shallow, narrow vein, underground Gold mines. The ore is contained in a series of structurally controlled, high-grade lodes, with the Gold hosted in a highly faulted SIF. Ore drives are mined under Geology control and due to the complexity of the mineralisation this presents an exciting challenge for a Senior Mine Geologist to take ownership of the geological processes in a small team environment.THE ROLE:The Senior Mine Geologist is responsible for leading a team of Geology professionals, while providing planning and supervision of the grade control function, reconciliations, and modelling of the deposit. Reporting directly to the overall Mount Monger Operation Geology Manager, you will take ownership of the Geology function at Mount Belches. THE ROLE:

  • Ensure ore is extracted to maximise recovery and minimise ore loss and dilution
  • Working closely with Long Term Planning to optimise the ore body and maximise recovery
  • Lead by example and instil a safety culture in Geology and other mine personnel
  • Mentor, train and manage the performance of Mine and Graduate Geologists
  • QA/QC monitoring
  • Foster close working relationships with technical staff and contractor personnel

  • Hold a current C Class driver's license and Senior First Aid Certificate
