Community Solutions is seeking candidates that would love the opportunity to work with an experienced residential house builder that will provide you with in-depth training to become a qualified carpenter within 4 years. The role is located at the Whitsundays - Airlie Beach, Cannonvale and Proserpine areas so candidates of any of the these locations are encouraged to apply. The role will require a hardworking, disciplined applicant who can work long hours outside in the hot sun. This position will offer a wealth of knowledge to build a foundation for an aspiring tradesman. If this is something you are seeking please see below with the following criteria of the position.
The Apprenticeship will involve:
- Residential Construction
- Setting out
- Construct wall and ceiling frames
- Construct pitched roofs and eaves
- Install bulkheads, windows and doors
- Concreting
- Working at Heights
- Using hand tools and power tools
Requirements:
- Must have manual drivers’ licence and reliable transport
- Construction Safety White Card (or willing to obtain)
- Certificate I or II in construction is an advantage
- Work Experience with construction or a builder is desirable
- Understand the importance of workplace health and safety
- Pre-employment Medical and Aptitude testing

- Must have desire to work in construction
- Enjoy hands on work and problem solving
- Have high attention to detail
- Be a quick learner who can follow directions
- Be extremely reliable, motivated & handle a fast paced, physical environment
- Be tenacious and persistent

Community Solutions is a non-for-profit organisation operating as a commercial business, providing apprentices and trainees to a variety of different businesses throughout Queensland. We provide apprentices and trainees important career guidance and opportunity to earn while they learn. Dedicated Field Officers are assigned to apprentices and trainees to provide ongoing support to completing their chosen trade qualification.
