This role is for the afternoon shift being 1:30-9:30pm.Duties and Responsibilities:Electronic / Electrical AssemblySystem modification and installation of electrical / avionics systemsHarness manufacturingHigh level soldering skills to a PCB levelElectrical circuit Fault finding and diagnosisWork closely with Engineers to assemble prototype products based on schematic diagrams; accurately mark changes when instructions vary and report changesConduct and record product tests and diagnostic activities to support the production processMechanical enclosure / component assemblyEnsure all parts meet quality standardsUse of power toolsManual handlingWork with the Human Resources team to grow the Gilmour Space team as requiredOther duties as requested by ManagementMinimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Certificate IV in Aeroskills - Avionics5+ years of experience in a high reliability and quality manufacturing operating environment, ideally within the space / aerospace industryExtensive knowledge of avionics and electrical systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills.Have a passion for advancing the commercial space industryDesired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Knowledge of temperature, pressure, and flow measurement devices, mechanical and electrical systems, and propulsion systemsSkill in operating and manipulating machinery with great manual dexterityExperience with forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipmentAbility to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with Engineering and ProductionAbility to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environmentProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsCapable of obtaining and maintaining an Australian Government NV Level 1 Security ClearancePolicies and ProceduresAll Gilmour Space policies and procedures form part of all Employees’ terms of engagement and position descriptions. The Avionics Technician will create and assemble quality components vital to the core of Gilmour Space’s innovative designs. You will contribute to the smooth running of the department by effectively communicating with all team members to ensure duties are performed in an efficient and timely manner whilst adhering to Gilmour Space policies and procedures. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Electronic / Electrical Assembly
  • System modification and installation of electrical / avionics systems
  • Harness manufacturing
  • High level soldering skills to a PCB level
  • Electrical circuit Fault finding and diagnosis
  • Work closely with Engineers to assemble prototype products based on schematic diagrams; accurately mark changes when instructions vary and report changes
  • Conduct and record product tests and diagnostic activities to support the production process
  • Mechanical enclosure / component assembly
  • Ensure all parts meet quality standards
  • Use of power tools
  • Manual handling

  • Other duties as requested by Management

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
