The Position
The Design Engineer operates as a member of the Engineering team to provide civil and structural engineering services to the business. The position ensures reliability and accuracy in the development of designs that utilise the latest techniques and processes to contribute to the success of the business’ operations.
About You
We're looking for someone who can competently run with the key responsbilities of the position. To succeed, you'll have or hold:
- Completed an Engineering Degree (B.E. min) with minimum 5-10 years’ experience in a design or fabrication environment or similar.
- CPEng qualified or eligible registered engineers preferred.
- Excellent computer skills, including:
- 2D & 3D CAD (AutoDesk AutoCAD & Inventor & associated variants preferred)
- SpaceGASS
- Autodesk Inventor NASTRAN
- MS Outlook, Excel and Word
- all working on a Windows OS.
- An appreciation of engineering workshop practice, including welding, steel fabrication, machining and mechanical & structural assembly.
- Experience with:
- cylindrical & conical plate structures within a design environment.
- spiral stairways around cylindrical structures within a design environment.
- clad roof support structures for cylindrical structures (eg steel tanks for containing water) within a design environment.
- foundation structural / civil design for cylindrical structures (steel tanks) will also be viewed favourably.
- The ability to work cooperatively as part of an engineering/design team.
- High attention to detail and quality of work.
This position requires a current National Police Check (no more than 3 months old), a current driver’s licence, and evidence of right to work in Australia.
