Acquired in 2016, Rocklands is Paraway’s largest cattle breeding operation, situated on the border of Queensland and the Northern Territory on the Barkly Tableland some 7kms from the township of Camooweal. Rocklands runs a 28,000-breeder herd consisting of a crossbred herd with influence from Brahman, Santa Gertrudis and Angus genetics.
The progeny from Rocklands are moved South and East to Paraway’s Queensland grower properties.
The role will be responsible for supervising and coordinating day-to-day station operations under direction of the Station Manager and Assistant Manager. Key areas include supervision and coordination of other station staff, animal husbandry practices and maintenance of fixed infrastructure (fences, yards, plant). The role is a leadership position, and you will be expected to represent Paraway at industry and community events as required, demonstrate a commitment to safety and contribute to building a collaborative and productive team.

To be successful you will have a positive attitude to work, enjoy working in a team and have solid experience in;
- Cattle management, handling and husbandry including Low Stress Stockhandling
- Sound knowledge and experience with horses
- Knowledge and experience in maintenance and repairs of infrastructure, plant and machinery
- Supervision of other staff and/or contractors
The successful applicant will be required to live on station with accommodation and meals provided. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
