Waverley Christian College is a forward thinking and culturally diverse Christian co-educational school from Kinder to Year 12. We have been providing students with a quality Christian educational experience for over 45 years. With campuses in Wantirna South and Narre Warren South, Waverley Christian College has an enrolment of over 2400 students with 400 staff across both campuses in 2024.
Our College is dedicated to fostering a culture of inclusion and celebrating diversity. Our Learning Support Department plays a pivotal role in ensuring every student can access and participate in education alongside their peers. We collaborate closely with teachers, allied health professionals, parents, and students to create tailored supports that foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
We are currently seeking a part-time (FTE 0.6) Learning Support Teacher Coordinator (Secondary) to join our team on a fixed-term contract covering 12 months of parental leave. Commencing in September 2024, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our mission of ensuring every student can thrive in their educational journey.
As a Learning Support Coordinator, you are someone who embodies compassion, patience, and creativity, and who is organised and flexible. These are integral to ensure success in your role as you advocate for students who require additional support to facilitate their active participation in school, support teachers and Learning Support staff, and help families feel heard and connected to their child's education. Your support will make a lasting impact on the lives of our students and their families.
The successful applicant must:
- Be a qualified teacher and hold a current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
- Have current First Aid qualifications and Anaphylaxis Certificate or be willing to obtain these prior to commencement.
- Have a passion for supporting students with disabilities
- Be able to implement strategies and supports to help students succeed and feel included
- Be able to collaborate with teachers, students, and other learning support staff
- Be able to show a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education.
- Be willing to get involved in all aspects of the College’s programs and opportunities.
- Have high level communication and interpersonal skills.

Applicants are to include a Resume, Letter of Application, Pastoral Reference and complete the screening questions as part of the application process. Applicants will also need to provide three references. A First Aid Certificate (HLTAD011) and Anaphylaxis Certificate are also required prior to starting in the role.
