Life Saving Victoria is currently on the search for Communications Operators.
- 2 Fulltime fixed term (3 months) November 2024 – February 2025, with potential for casual work through to April 2024
- 7-day rotating roster - 3 days on / 3 days off – 10-hour shifts

Who are we?
Life Saving Victoria is Victoria's peak water safety and lifesaving organisation. We’re a recognised agency of Emergency Management Victoria and provide emergency response services across the state through our vast network of lifesaving clubs, lifeguards, marine and aerial rescue services.
How will this position contribute to Life Saving Victoria’s mission?
The Communications Operators are responsible for receiving and processing critical and non-emergency statewide radio and telephone communications, coordinating the allocation of resources to emergency incidents. Working as a part of a small team in a dynamic, technology-based environment providing incident management, dispatching and monitoring resources via computer assisted dispatch system, liaising with the Victoria Police Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC), State Command Centre (SCC), Ambulance Victoria (AV) and other external stakeholders.
These are fulltime, fixed term 3 month positions that will be rostered over a 7-day rotating roster. 3 days on / 3 days off 10 hour shift pattern located at our State Centre in Port Melbourne.

Minimum Criteria
- Be a minimum of 18 years of age as of 01 October 2024
- Current working with children check
Desirable Qualifications
- Previous radio communications experience
- Certificate II Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) / Bronze Medallion
- Level 2 First Aid
- Previous emergency management experience
