We are seeking a qualified Electronic Engineer / Software Engineer to take responsibility for the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the existing Instrumentation & Control Systems for the Ground Launch Facility at the Bowen Orbital Spaceport. Working with the Electrical & Mechanical Engineering teams to support safe and operator friendly control systems and graphical user interfaces in support of the Ground Facilities Lauch Operations. This position would include the ongoing maintenance of existing systems and the design, development and testing of new & improved SCADA Graphics User Interfaces, PLC Control Logic and miscellaneous Field Devices and Instrumentation. Furthermore, to document and communicate across teams to ensure duties are performed in an efficient and timeous manner whilst adhering to Gilmour Space policies and procedures.

How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:

- Design, configure and implement customized software control solutions utilising SCADA Software and PLC Ladder Logic programming for real time control and visualization of Ground Launch Facilities Fluids Systems and Processes based on the Electrical & Mechanical Engineering team requirements and local & international design and operational compliance codes.
- Perform the role of subject matter expert on all aspects of the instrumentation, hardware, PLC Equipment, Ladder Logic programming, control configurations and SCADA Software solutions.
- Integrate the SCADA solution to monitor instruments and control field devices, perform data logging and storage, display trends using graphs and other graphical means. Manage Operator database and Access Levels to the SCADA Platform.
- Design, write, test, deploy, and debug software modules and hardware integration for amendments and modifications or new additions to the site systems.
- Ensure that Site Management are kept informed of critical path progress for project delivery.
- Other duties as requested by Management.
Mandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (Light Current) or Computer Science.
- NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred.
Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

- 3+ years of experience in a similar role (i.e. building industrial control systems using PLC’s and SCADA Software Systems.)
- PLC Ladder Logic & PLC Configuration & Networking experience.
- Sound understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP and MODBus TCP
- Demonstrated familiarity with real-time control and tuned loops.
- Experience developing SCADA Software Platforms for Plant Control & Data Logging.
- Experience with analogue pressure and flow measurement instrumentation using 4 – 20mA loops and temperature measurement instruments such as Thermocouples and RTD’s.
- Experience with Valve Actuators including Electronic, Solenoid and Pneumatic types.
- Read / Edit / Update schematics and layout drawings to "As-Built" status.
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
