How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:
The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do.
- Partner with our launch site operations team to develop, implement and publish launch safety zones in the air, sea and land environments.
- Manage third-party service providers to ensure services are meeting corporate standards and terms of contract.
- Supervise and provide daily support to the launch operations technicians
- Control safety zones particularly in regard to range clearance procedures
- Write Range Safety policy and procedures to administer, and operate safety zones for launch
- Ensure safety and quality inspection principles are followed in all tasks
- Manage community relationships and public information campaigns to spread awareness of the safety zones
- Partner with state and federal authorities to achieve situational awareness over safety zones and where required, enforcement
- Maintain suite of tools for maintenance of situational awareness of safety zones to inform launch clearance activities
- During launch activity, in collaboration with the flight team, maintain communications with state and federal authorities and responsible agencies to manage activation and clearance of safety areas
- Conduct documented, repeatable risk assessment activity
- In the event of an anomaly, activation of the Emergency Response Plan and coordination with response agencies
- Other duties as requested by Management
Mandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- High school certificate or equivalent certificate definition
- Experience managing air or weapons ranges
- Experience operating radio telephony equipment
- Experience conducting risk management workshops and documentation
- Experience writing and reviewing policy and procedure documents

- Excellent interpersonal skills capable of interacting with local landowners and community groups
- Experience working with geodetic information systems and mapping applications
- Knowledge of high pressure pneumatic, hydraulic and cryogenic fluids systems
- Practical experience working with radio telephony equipment
- Experience managing budgets
- Experience managing third-party vendors
- Ability to work independently with little direction
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Knowledge of safety procedures and techniques
- Knowledge of all types of inspection equipment
- Knowledge of all types of measuring instruments
- Understanding of fluids system schematics and procedures related to launch operations
- Skill in operating machinery and various hand and power tools
- Reasonable skill level using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
