There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do.To ensure the smooth operation of the Structures team across both AM & PM shiftsTo carry out assignments associated with the assembly and testing of rocket structures.To deliver training to technicians on best-in-class operations practices by driving process improvement workshops; providing training and information briefs on key topics; and demonstrating solutions in the areaAssist in the preparation of technical reports as requiredWork with Design & Manufacturing Engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability and test requirements, then implement in a rapidly evolving production environment Create suggested process improvement methodologies and tools to reduce manufacturing build hours and quality issues; increase production rates; and remove waste from complex processesEnsure quality control standards are always adhered toCoordinate with team members in solving technical problems as they ariseTo communicate with all managers and team members to ensure positive working relationships and adherence to the daily operational requirementAbility to accommodate off-hours work, as necessary, during certain build phasesOther duties as requested by ManagementSupervision:Provide leadership, motivation, and direction in the day to day running of the Structures team, ensuring it is managed effectively by setting clear targets/KPI’s and monitoring these in line with expectationsTo manage performance of the team, ensuring that any shortfalls in performance are managed and reported to the Manufacturing Supervisor To ensure all workers are inducted and operate to the company’s policies / procedures including casuals, contractors & visitors on siteEnsure toolbox meetings are conducted in line with Gilmour Space requirements Minutes of meeting should be taken with items raised, actioned in timely mannerEnsure employees work in line with company policies and procedures To complete Performance Appraisals in line with Gilmour Space policy and proceduresTo ensure that the team receive adequate training and development necessary to meet the needs of the businessMandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Level 3 Trade qualification in Aerospace, Fitting, or similar trade5+ years of experience in the aerospace, manufacturing, marine or automotive industryNV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred.Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Experience gained through the military or within an aviation manufacturing company.   • To ensure the smooth operation of the Structures team across both AM & PM shifts

  • Work with Design & Manufacturing Engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability and test requirements, then implement in a rapidly evolving production environment
  • Create suggested process improvement methodologies and tools to reduce manufacturing build hours and quality issues; increase production rates; and remove waste from complex processes
  • Ensure quality control standards are always adhered to
  • Coordinate with team members in solving technical problems as they arise
  • To communicate with all managers and team members to ensure positive working relationships and adherence to the daily operational requirement
  • Ability to accommodate off-hours work, as necessary, during certain build phases
  • Other duties as requested by Management

Supervision:

Mandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Level 3 Trade qualification in Aerospace, Fitting, or similar trade
  • 5+ years of experience in the aerospace, manufacturing, marine or automotive industry
  • NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred.

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience gained through the military or within an aviation manufacturing company.

  • High-volume manufacturing experience.
