We provide local government entities across NSW with worker’s compensation insurance solutions as well as offering safety and wellbeing services and are trusted as their workforce risk and wellbeing experts for their 38,000 workers.
The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity at StateCover where you’ll initially be focused on embedding our policy governance framework and associated register through our newly implemented GRC. In addition, you will implement and manage an effective operating rhythm of our key policies, procedures and knowledge artefacts. This will include overseeing every phase, from the development and approval of our policies, standards, and procedures to their communication, retirement, and ongoing maintenance.
You will ensure good governance over all new and revised policies including alignment to legislation, regulatory standards, norms, and other requirements. In addition, you’ll contribute to the development of reports, documents, briefings, and surveys related to policy governance.
This is a hands-on role, where you will be required to work collaboratively with stakeholders, including 1-on-1 with senior leaders and policy owners as well as partner with our Risk & Compliance team and the Company Secretariat in delivering on expectations.
Your story
You will have prior experience in a similar position, with a proven track record in managing policy governance, design of, and implementation of policies. You see yourself as a business partner and are a strong collaborator and can easily engage with people across all levels of the organisation. You possess a strong aptitude for verbal reasoning, excellent communication skills effectively tailoring your style and messaging to suit different audiences. You have strong business acumen and are a genuine people person, appreciating how people think, learn and take in information. You take a pragmatic approach without compromising on detail.
Experience in insurance or financial services is essential as is a sound understanding of working in an APRA regulated environment. A qualification in law or a compliance-related discipline is highly favourable.
