About the role
As our Community Services Consultant for the Carer Connect, you will be the first point of contact for clients seeking support with information, services, and referrals. The Carer Gateway assists carers to access a range of free services and
In this role, you will connect with people who each have unique needs and circumstances. By listening with empathy and providing clear, accurate guidance, you will create an experience where carers feel heard, respected, and supported.
This is a full time position, working Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 6:00pm. While you’ll be part of the broader Support Centre, your focus will be on delivering the Carer Gateway program and ensuring every carer receives the right support at the right time.
Duties
- Conduct intake and referral support while providing a calming and informative customer experience.
- Identify risks and vulnerabilities and connect carers to appropriate services or provide relevant information.
- Assist carers in navigating services.

Skills & Experience
We want you to be successful in your new role! This means you'll have:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Customer service experience, particularly in phone-based roles or call centres, is preferable.
- High level of emotional regulation and agility, along with compassion and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Technologically savvy with the ability to navigate multiple computer systems and multitask effectively in high-stress situations.
- Strong multitasking abilities and a focus on the task at hand.
- Inquisitive and eager to learn more about available services and programs.
- Certificate III or IV, or a Diploma in aged care, community care, disability services, community services, or related fields such as psychology, counselling, mental health, or social work is highly advantageous.
