Our Organisation
The Benevolent Society’s vision is to build a just society where all Australians can live their best life. For more than 200 years we have supported people at the margins of society: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians; children, young people, and their families; older people; carers and people with disability. We are an independent, non-religious service provider which supports people to live life their way.
As part of The Benevolent Society's vision, we are strongly committed to reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of Australia. We remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting the economic, political, and social inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
About the role
As our Senior Practitioner in our Family Preservation Program, you’ll play a key role in supporting strengthening families so children can remain safely at home and thrive. The program provides targeted, voluntary child protection services to families at high risk of entering or escalating within the statutory child protection system.
In this senior position, you’ll balance a smaller caseload with mentoring and practice support for your colleagues. You’ll be a trusted source of guidance on complex cases, help embed a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, and collaborate with leaders to shape and refine how the program is delivered. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on families while also contributing to the growth and capability of the broader team.

- Assist the leadership team with program development, process review, and implementation.
- Deliver high-quality, strengths-based early intervention services to families with complex needs.
- Attend review meetings, case conferences, and consultation sessions, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
