How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:
The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do.
- Engage with engineering and operational teams to collect, interpret, and assess launch vehicle and mission data for use in the Risk Hazard Analysis (RHA).
- Develop and maintain a library of third-party information and reference material required to support the RHA process.
- Conduct RHAs for activities governed under the SLR Act and for internal development or research activities.
- Review Flight Safety Plans to assess the suitability and effectiveness of proposed controls and mitigation strategies.
- Perform impact assessments and sensitivity analyses to evaluate how design or operational changes affect the overall mission safety case.
- Develop, refine, and maintain the methodologies, modelling approaches, and processes employed by the Flight Safety Department in support of RHAs.
- Prepare technical analysis, documentation, and presentations for internal reviews and regulatory submissions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Flight Safety Department.
- Other duties as requested by Management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Mathematics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
- Understanding of reliability engineering fundamentals.
- Strong mathematical background (modelling, probability, statistics, or numerical methods).
- Experience with Python for data analysis, modelling, or automation.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, rapidly evolving environments.
- Willingness to work collaboratively and assist team members across disciplines.
- Experience with risk assessments, reliability analysis, or safety-critical systems.
- Experience preparing engineering documentation or safety-related technical reports.
- Familiarity with MATLAB or other analysis tools.
- Experience working with complex or multi-disciplinary engineering data sets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of systems engineering fundamentals.
- Ability to obtain NV1 Security Clearance.
