The Role
Join our dedicated Specialty Claims team as a Senior Case Manager, where you'll strategically manage a portfolio of complex, long-term workers compensation claims across NSW. This isn't about volume - it's about depth, expertise and making a genuine impact.
What makes this role unique:
You'll work directly with injured workers, employers and service providers to influence strategy and drive outcomes - no intermediaries, and as a specialised insurer, we have greater control of our product and services alongside our relationships with our injured workers and Members. This direct access means you can truly shape the claims journey and achieve meaningful results.
Your focus will span the full spectrum of specialty claims management:
- Supporting injured workers with complex and long-term injuries, optimising medical treatment and rehabilitation to improve recovery and return-to-work outcomes
- Reviewing, assessing and determining workers compensation benefits including weekly compensation, whole person impairment assessments, work capacity decisions and work injury damages claims
- Managing complex legal considerations and coordinating investigations
- Applying legislative frameworks strategically to achieve cost-effective, compliant outcomes
- Building strong relationships with Members, proactively communicating developments and collaborating on claims strategies You'll be supported by injury management specialists, technical advisors and legal experts enabling true collaboration on the most challenging claims.
About You
You're an experienced case manager with a passion for workers compensation and helping people through difficult times. You bring:
- Proven case management experience, ideally with a long-tail claims portfolio
- Strong technical knowledge across workers compensation legislation and contemporary injury management practices
- Experience with WPI assessments, work capacity decisions and WID claims (highly regarded)
- Problem-solving expertise - you can navigate complex scenarios and develop strategic solutions
- Relationship-building skills that enable you to influence outcomes and collaborate effectively
- Attention to detail and commitment to timely, professional service delivery
- Most importantly: genuine care for people and a desire to make a difference in their lives
