The opportunity
We’re seeking a Claims Internal Review Officer to manage and conduct internal reviews of claims decisions under the NSW workers compensation scheme. In this role, you’ll ensure procedural fairness, legislative compliance and timely, worker‑focused communication, while providing clear and transparent decisions.
Working closely with the claims teams, in-house legal counsel and panel legal providers, you’ll review complex and disputed decisions, issue well‑reasoned written outcomes, and support matters that may proceed to external dispute resolution. Beyond individual reviews, you’ll play a key role in identifying trends, sharing insights and contributing to continuous improvement across the claims function, helping to strengthen decision‑making quality and Member outcomes.
Your story
You’re an experienced workers compensation professional with strong technical knowledge of the NSW scheme and a sound understanding of procedural fairness and dispute resolution pathways. You’re confident managing complex reviews, applying legislation accurately and communicating decisions clearly and respectfully to injured workers and other stakeholders.
You bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to draft plain‑language written decisions that are clear, well‑reasoned and defensible. Collaborative by nature, you enjoy working with claims teams and legal providers, sharing insights and supporting capability uplift. Above all, you’re motivated by fair, transparent outcomes and continuous improvement.
