This role also assists clients with mobility challenges by collecting prescriptions and ensuring all transport services are delivered efficiently and compassionately.Working as part of a collaborative team, the Transport Driver contributes to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the Mallee Region. Key Responsibilities

  • Transport clients safely to and from medical appointments
  • Coordinate daily transport schedules with reception and team members
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of MDAS vehicles in line with policy
  • Assist clients with mobility needs, including collecting prescriptions
  • Accurately record transport services and additional requests
  • Provide responsive support to clinical staff when required
  • Ensure confidentiality of client information at all times
  • Remain contactable during work hours and respond to client needs
  • Contribute to a culturally safe and respectful service environment
  • Follow workplace health, safety, and quality standards

 

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Demonstrated safe driving history
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work within a team and manage time effectively
  • Understanding of, and respect for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures
  • Client-focused approach with attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Ability to work flexibly and respond to client needs

Qualifications

  • Certificate II in First Aid (or willingness to obtain)

Screening Requirements

  • Current Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
