StateCover's purpose is to keep people safe, well and working. A SIRA licensed specialised insurer, we deliver workers compensation insurance solutions exclusively for local Government in NSW.
As a Mutual, we work differently. We're trusted partners to our Members (insured local councils), collaborating closely to protect their workforce and minimise the impact of workplace injuries.
The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Safety professional looking to make a difference for our Member councils. Building strong, trusted relationships, you will work collaboratively with our Members to identify and address safety challenges and continuously improve their safety performance and culture. While providing specialist safety advice, you will develop and deliver safety programs, services and training, and prepare high-quality reports and resource materials to maximise safety outcomes.
The role will be based out of our Sydney office however applications from candidates based in regional NSW will be considered
Your story
You have significant prior experience in a safety operations role, ideally within local government or a similar environment. You demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of WHS, which encompasses relevant legislation and the practical implementation of safety management systems. You enjoy utilising this knowledge to train, support and develop others in maximising safety outcomes. You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders across all levels of an organisation.
Most importantly you have a genuine passion for people and enjoy spending time with our Members and working as part of a high performing team.
