Key responsibilities Student Health Care
  • Provide first aid and care for sick or injured students
  • Manage medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and anaphylaxis
  • Maintain and monitor individual health care plans
  • Administer medications in line with policies and consent
  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate with emergency services
Health Monitoring & Records
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student health records
  • Track and report incidents, injuries, and health trends
  • Ensure compliance with health policies and procedures
Health Promotion & Education
  • Support health and wellbeing initiatives
  • Promote student wellbeing and mental health awareness
Collaboration & Communication
  • Liaise with parents/guardians regarding student health needs
  • Work closely with staff, leadership, and external health professionals
  • Provide advice on health-related matters impacting student participation
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure health and safety standards are met
  • Maintain first aid supplies and equipment
  • Support infection control practices
Excursions & Events
  • Provide or coordinate first aid support for excursions and events
  • Assess medical risks and support planning for off-site activities
  • Prepare first aid kits and required medications
  • Ensure student medical information is accessible during activities
About you Essential
  • Current AHPRA registration as an EN or RN
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and Anaphylaxis certification
  • Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Willing to obtain a Working with Children Card
  • Alignment with the College’s values and Lutheran ethos
Desirable
  • Experience in paediatric, community, or school nursing
  • Experience managing health conditions in children
  • Knowledge of school health policies and procedures
  • Experience in health promotion and wellbeing programs
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and SEQTA
  • A personal Christian faith (highly regarded)
