The Role

We’re looking for a Drill & Blast Engineer to join our Technical team. You'll be someone who may have had experience (whether formal or informal) taking on a coaching or mentoring role and excited by an opportunity where you’re on the ground supporting on-site operations. This move is ideal for you if you:

  • Want hands-on involvement in drill & blast design, QA, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement

What You’ll Do

You’ll support drill & blast delivery across design, QA, stakeholder liaison, and operational improvement on site. Your work will include:

  • Running drill & blast design, QA and performance reviews

  • Working closely with site engineers, production teams and clients

  • Liaise with the client directly to ensure business needs are understood and met

  • Supporting juniors with mentorship and coaching

  • Assisting with troubleshooting, data analysis and continuous improvement

  • Being based on site, providing technical in time support to our crew on the ground and managing head office stakeholders

What You’ll Need

Must-haves:

  • Right to work in Australia without restrictions

  • Experience in Drill & Blast

  • Proven experience leading or mentoring others

  • Able to obtain a Queensland Explosives Security Clearance or hold one

  • Ability to translate complex technical information into simple, actionable insights

  • High level of interpersonal skill, with the ability to build rapport quickly and maintain positive internal and external stakeholder relationships

  • Resilience, agility, versatility and willingness to work in a dynamic operational environment

  • Able to travel to site and work on an 8:6 roster

 Nice to have:

  • Degree in Mining Engineering (not essential)

  • Mining operational experience on the bench (e.g., Blast Crew, Shotfirer)

  • Experience using mine planning or blasting software

  • Previous exposure to drill & blast design, QA, or analysis
