and engineering excellence.Other duties as required by ManagementTechnical Delivery:Develop and execute engineering delivery strategies that support program objectives.Balance technical performance, manufacturability, verification, schedule, cost, safety, and operational requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle.Monitor technical progress and proactively resolve delivery risks, technical issues, and engineering constraints.Ensure engineering outputs are delivered to the required standard and support successful hardware delivery.Hardware Development:Provide technical leadership throughout concept development, detailed design, manufacture, integration, verification, qualification, and operational support.Guide engineering trade studies and major technical decisions affecting subsystem performance.Ensure engineering solutions appropriately consider whole-of-system impacts.Support complex engineering activities where additional technical capability or leadership is required.Verification & Validation:Develop verification strategies appropriate to subsystem complexity.Review and approve engineering analyses, technical reports, verification evidence, and engineering documentation within delegated authority.Lead technical investigations into engineering issues, anomalies, failures, and corrective actions.Ensure engineering decisions are supported by appropriate technical evidence.Stakeholder Leadership:Build productive working relationships across engineering, manufacturing, operations, quality, supply chain, and program teams.Represent Mechanical Engineering during technical reviews, planning activities, integration forums, and program decision-making.Communicate technical status, risks, priorities, and recommendations to stakeholders.Align multidisciplinary engineering teams towards common delivery objectives.Engineering Capability:Mentor Mechanical Engineers and Senior Mechanical Engineers.Develop engineering capability through coaching, constructive feedback, and technical leadership.Contribute to the development of engineering standards, methods, tools, and best practice.Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes and team performance.Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.6 + years of experience in a professional mechanical engineering setting (excluding internships)Demonstrated experience leading the successful delivery of complex engineering programs, subsystems, or major hardware developments.Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams.Strong engineering judgement and systems thinking.Demonstrated ability to balance competing technical, schedule, cost, manufacturing, and operational priorities.Strong communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.Eligibility to obtain an Australian Defence security clearance is desirable.Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Experience acting as a Responsible Engineer, Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, or equivalent engineering leadership position.Experience delivering complex aerospace or high-reliability
