How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:

  • Perform composites manufacturing tasks to the highest industry standard
  • Carbon fibre pre-preg layup, including core materials
  • All lamination techniques with precision and attention to detail 
  • Wet layup hand lamination techniques
  • Resin infusion 
  • Vacuum bagging and vacuum pump proficiency
  • Compression moulding processes
  • Operation of autoclaves and ovens for curing composite components
  • Spray painting and surface finishing of composite structures
  • Trimming, demoulding, and finishing of composite components
  • Precision measuring and QC of components
  • Drilling, reaming, and trimming composite parts to tight tolerances using precision tools
  • Composite defect repair, including sanding, scarfing, patching, and re-lamination
  • Composite assembly including accurate part alignment, surface preparation, bonding with structural adhesives, and fastening using torque-controlled hardware
  • Experience with jig and fixture setup for high-accuracy assemblies
  • Operation of filament winders (training provided)
  • Work with engineering teams to design and manufacture moulds, jigs, and tooling for efficient composite fabrication
  • Develop, implement, and follow standard operating procedures for composite processes
  • Read, interpret, and execute technical drawings, work instructions, procedures and engineering documentation
  • Monitor and report any deviations from drawings, specifications, or procedures
  • Handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with legislative and company safety standards
  • Compliant with booking and tracking timelines and progress of work
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
  • Other duties as requested by Management
Mandatory Qual ifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Trade qualification in Polymer Processing, Composites, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in composites manufacturing
  • Must be capable of obtaining and clearing an NV Level 1 Security Clearance
