Due to a growth in our workload, we are looking for a Geomatics Operator to join our experienced team in Brisbane. This role offers an opportunity to provide valued GIS support to Verbrec as part of ongoing works. Ideally, you will have experience in the areas of Oil & Gas, Mining, Infrastructure, or other heavy industries.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
- Perform GIS assignments that meet or support project requirements on time and within budget.
- Collect and analyse spatial data using GIS and Remote Sensing technologies.
- Create and maintain datasets, maps, and other spatial products to support decision-making.
- Analyse patterns, relationships and trends in data to support project goals and objectives.
- Design and implement spatial models to automate and streamline geoprocessing functions.
- Provide specialised advice regarding best practises, cartographic standards and spatial data.
- Communicate effectively with the discipline team and project stakeholders.
- Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
- Report to the Geospatial analyst and complete all tasks assigned by them to a high standard.
About the role
This position would suit Geomatics Operators with 2-5 years’ experience with skills and experiences across:
- Esri ArcGIS Pro (3.x)
- ESRI ArcGIS for Desktop (10.x)
- ArcGIS Online (desirable)
- Survey123, Collector for ArcGIS, Field Maps for ArcGIS (desirable)
- Python, ModelBuilder or automation/coding experience (desirable)
- Understanding of open-source GIS software (Google Earth, QGIS)
- Experience providing GIS support in an engineering environment is highly desirable, but not essential.
