Role Overview:

This role will see you delivering high quality tenancy and property management for Community Housing Limited. You will be responsible for property inspections, allocations of vacant properties, rental collection and chasing arrears, conducting condition reports, coordinating lease and rent reviews, and carrying out exit procedures.
As a Housing Officer, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders including government departments, the Asset Management Unit, clients, and relevant support agencies. There may be times where you will be required to represent Community Housing Limited at hearings.
You will be responsible for performing administrative tasks including reporting, addressing complaints, adhering to compliance requirements, and maintaining accurate property and tenancy data in all required systems.
What You’ll Do:
To be successful for this role, you will have a genuine passion for wanting to support vulnerable people in our community.
What We’re Looking for:
- Demonstrated experience in providing client focused tenancy management services.
- Solid understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act.
- Relevant skills and experience in working sensitively with a diverse customer group with complex needs, including those who are in housing crisis.
- Confidence in liaising with various stakeholders including vulnerable people.
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a caring and empathetic nature.
- Previous experience working on MS Office programs.
- Ability to compose professional correspondence via email to internal and external stakeholders.
- A current driver’s license - onsite parking available.
Desirable:
- Previous experience working in the social/community housing industry.
Please note that a satisfactory police check is required for all staff and those with client related responsibilities are required to provide a NDIS and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
