Summary:

Responsibilities:

  • Working with members of the Project Management Office Team, assemble the appropriate project team to execute projects through design development, scope definition, estimating, and construction execution
  • Ensure that end user requirements are met through ongoing consultation with representatives of identified customer groups
  • Use mechanical, electrical and/or process systems expertise to work with individual project team members to ensure the appropriate commissioning, qualification and training plans with accompanying resources are in place to deliver efficient system start-up
  • In cooperation with key team member, ensure that all systems are in place to ensure due diligence in design, construction procurement/execution and project cost and schedule controls
  • Ensure that all project work is performed in full compliance with established regulatory standards including, but not limited to, MediPharm Labs. safety policies and procedures, cGMP, building code, OFC, ESA/CSA and MOL/MOE requirements
  • Support as required the trouble-shooting and problem resolution of facility equipment/systems and manufacturing equipment
  • Ensure all necessary permits, as required by the current codes, are obtained and that any necessary inspections are scheduled
  • Lead and/or support the development and execution of FAT, commissioning, and validation requirements and associated documentation for work assigned, as required
  • Perform other related responsibilities as required

 

Role requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years-experience in leading the design, construction of capital projects in a fast paced, high-technology, team environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical or food industry
  • Proven track record in managing capital projects in a team environment on time and on budget
  • Working knowledge in the numerous regulatory aspects of project construction, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Ontario Building Code, ESA/CSA, and OFC
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering/Technology in the Province of Ontario or equivalent experience
  • PEO (Professional Engineer of Ontario) designation eligibility - P. Eng. preferred
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Fluent in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Power point and working knowledge of AutoCAD
