Summary:  The Calibration Technician is responsible for effective calibration and repair of all types of equipment in the facility. Working as part of the Facilities Team, providing excellent customer service and maintaining computerized records while ensuring GMP compliance

Responsibilities:

  • Complete calibration and repairs of various types of equipment
  • Assist with coordination of various contractors, providing support and guidance as necessary
  • Seek opportunities for improvement of systems and procedures, and facilitate increased in-house calibration opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with MPL SOP’s and the Quality System
  • Work as part of the Facilities team, to collaborate with Quality and Production to schedule contractors and calibration activities and address any quality concerns
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication to both internal and external customers
  • Ensure all health and safety policies and procedures are followed
  • Review work orders and vendor reports for accuracy and clarity, proper scope, tolerance requirements, service dates and ensure standards are in compliance and within budget
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly reports
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance and Management System (CMMS) to investigate issues and implement corrective actions
  • Manage multiple tasks/priorities within specific time lines
  • Manage inventory of equipment and facility supplies in conjunction with the Inventory and Finance teams
  • Assist other members of the Facilities team and support technical operations as required
  • Complete other facility related tasks and activities as necessary

Skills and Qualifications

  • Facilities maintenance, repairs and calibration experience required
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical, force, dimensional, mass, temperature and electronic instrumentation fundamentals is preferred
  • Instrumentation Technician Diploma/ Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience is an asset
  • Ability to estimate jobs and service agreements
  • Ability to communicate ideas both verbally and written, interact constructively with peers/team members and seek outside resources as necessary
  • Possess a high mathematical understanding, excellent reading and computer skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate, plan, monitor and track operational projects and work in progress
  • Experience working in GPP/GMP environment, preferably pharmaceutical/food manufacturing
  • Capable of reading and interpreting drawings, schematics and instrumentation
  • Experience with a BAS (building automation system)
