The HR Manager’s main role is to ensure the excellent delivery of human resource services and fostering a high functioning, collaborative and innovative culture that embraces diversity and inclusion. The Human Resources Manager will address a variety of employee and compliance issues and provide general support; overseeing the maintenance of records, files and databases of personnel actions, evaluations, and tenure; plan, direct, or coordinate activities ensuring that personnel functions and all documentation conform to all applicable regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement company culture, values (innovation, integrity and collaboration) and policies
  • Oversee and manage all employee staffing including recruiting, sourcing, testing, interviewing, and checking references
  • Develop workforce strategies, to recruit and develop qualified candidates
  • Keep apprised of changes affecting Labour Laws and Worker's compensation
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and governmental regulations
  • Provide effective Human Resources advice and counsel to employees/managers to ensure effective problem resolution, and compliance with applicable provincial legislation
  • Participate in the investigation and guidance for disciplinary actions
  • Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation
  • Oversee data entry and maintenance of employee records
  • Responsible for the management and administration of payroll, compensation, benefits, paid time off, leave of absence, workers compensation and other HR related programs
  • Oversee the annual performance review process
  • Conduct all on boarding and orientation for newly hired staff
  • Facilitate the Quality Management Training Program 
  • Assist in ad-hoc assignments and projects as assigned

Skills/ Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of regulations for labour, compensation, and benefits
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Experience in conflict resolution
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (dynamic, strong relationship builder and influencer)
  • Previous full-cycle recruitment experience
  • Computer proficiency including HR systems
  • Continuous knowledge affecting Labour Laws and Worker's compensation
  • University degree required; Human Resources or related disciplines preferred
  • 5+ years work experience in a Human Resources capacity/ 3+ years in a lead/supervisory role
  • Previous pharmaceutical or Cannabis experience is an asset.
  • CHRL designation is an asset
