Paraway is seeking expressions of interest from experienced, driven, and engaging leaders for our 89,040-ha property Cooinbil Station, 20kms from Coleambally NSW. This position presents an exciting opportunity to join a progressive and well-resourced organisation that is committed to the success of its people, the care of the land we manage, and the welfare of our animals.
This dynamic station has a current carrying capacity of 100 000DSE which is predominantly sheep breeding with a contingent of trade and agistment cattle. The landscape encompasses native open plains for pastoral grazing and cleared areas for irrigated cropping, currently growing corn.
The Overseer will be responsible for supervising and coordinating station operations under the direction of the Station Manager. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a knowledge of animal husbandry practices, awareness of environment and sustainability practices, proficiency in general station infrastructure maintenance, machinery operation and maintenance, and competent in record keeping (with a focus on electronic data and recording management systems) which complements their current computer and technology skills.
The role is an important part of the leadership team at Cooinbil and will be expected to demonstrate Paraway’s values of Accountability, Integrity, and Opportunity, with a commitment to safety and contribute to a collaborative and productive environment. Of key importance in this role is the ability to work in a team environment and the capability to work cohesively with the station leadership team to ensure the ongoing growth and development of the team at Cooinbil. The successful candidate will also be required to work and guide staff members as well as seasonal contractors throughout the year. Not essential but definitely beneficial that you have your own working dogs.
An attractive and competitive remuneration package commensurate with the experience and skills of the successful candidate. Candidates will be required to undergo background screening including reference checking and must be vaccinated for Q Fever.
